Paulien (NO FOOD TRUCK)

The Paulien Quartet returns to get your weekend started with their incredible sounds. Featuring Paulien (vocals), Royce Campbell (guitar), Bob Bowen (bass), and Michael Elswick (sax). Performing live in our tropical paradise, Friday, December 9th, from 6 to 8:30pm. Open to all, no cover.

Bio:
Paulien’s distinctive voice has been well known in Europe since the mid-nineties from several recordings she mostly did in French. Now, she pays hommage to the Great American Song Book and classic French chanson; the perfect blend of jazz and popular French music of the 20th century.

In the Charlottesville area she performs with well seasoned local musicians, who are not just backup for the vocals, but are integral to the performance as a whole. So close your eyes, open your ears and float on her rediscovered sound from Paris.

Learn more about Paulien’s music at her website — https://www.paulien.info/

Salsa Street Grill will be onsite to help with your dinner plans. Offering a menu of their super flavorful, homemade Latin dishes. https://www.facebook.com/SalsaStreetGrill

There will NOT be food trucks scheduled during the winter months of December, January, or February. As always, outside foods are welcome. Pack a picnic, pick up your favorite take-out on your way, or put together a DIY Charcuterie Plate using the packaged gourmet food selection that we carry in the Tasting Room.

During the cold weather season, the music is typically held inside our tropical glass conservatory. On occasion, the music may take place outdoors, under the eaves of the back deck. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available first come, no reservations.

We have picnicking areas spread across the lakefront property. Feel free to bring your blankets/chairs. Pop up tents and personal grills are also permitted to be used in the overflow grassy tailgate and picnic areas.

Picnics are welcome throughout the property, barring any outside alcohol. Glass House Winery wines are available by the bottle and glass, and traditional tastings are being conducted at the Tasting Room Bar.

Local Vocals

We are thrilled to welcome back the Local Vocals to our local paradise here in Free Union! They’ll be entertaining all with their vast repertoire of favorites, spanning the last 6 decades…absolutely playing something for everyone! Saturday evening, December 10th, from 6 to 8:30pm. Open to all. No cover.

Band Bio:
LOCAL VOCALS is an eclectic acoustic trio featuring the vocal stylings of Cindy Perfater, former lead singer with Charlottesville’s
Houserockers Band for over 25 years. Pat Burns, guitarist/vocalist formerly with The Kool Kats and City Lights; and Mike Perfater, guitarist/vocalist who spent nearly three decades with The Houserockers Band as its founder and leader. The trio’s musical style relies heavily on tight three part harmonies, with all three members alternating as lead singers, and with recently added percussionest Carl Moyer holding down the groove.

With a powerful vocal chemistry, and now in their ninth year of performing together, LOCAL VOCALS repertoire includes a wide variety of traditional classic acoustic rock of The Eagles, Crosby Stills & Nash, The Zack Brown Band and Jimmy Buffett along with familiar modern selections of The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Little Big Town and ambitious unplugged versions of pop and rock groups whose music spans nine decades.
