~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are thrilled to welcome back the Local Vocals to our local paradise here in Free Union! They’ll be entertaining all with their vast repertoire of favorites, spanning the last 6 decades…absolutely playing something for everyone! Saturday evening, June 10th, from 5 to 8pm. Open to all. No cover.
Band Bio:
LOCAL VOCALS is an eclectic acoustic trio featuring the vocal stylings of Cindy Perfater, former lead singer with Charlottesville’s Houserockers Band for over 25 years. Pat Burns, guitarist/vocalist formerly with The Kool Kats and City Lights; and Mike Perfater, guitarist/vocalist who spent nearly three decades with The Houserockers Band as its founder and leader. The trio’s musical style relies heavily on tight three part harmonies, with all three members alternating as lead singers, and with recently added percussionest Carl Moyer holding down the groove.
With a powerful vocal chemistry, and now in their ninth year of performing together, LOCAL VOCALS repertoire includes a wide variety of traditional classic acoustic rock of The Eagles, Crosby Stills & Nash, The Zack Brown Band and Jimmy Buffett along with familiar modern selections of The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Little Big Town and ambitious unplugged versions of pop and rock groups whose music spans nine decades.
For your dinnertime entertainment, we’re thrilled to announce that Boxed Lunch will be returning to our slice of paradise here in Free Union. Their awesome Indie Pop Rock sounds are sure to satisfy all of your musical cravings! Performing live, Friday, July 7th, from 6 to 8:30pm.
Band Bio:
Boxed Lunch is a Charlottesville VA based indie pop/rock band led by the melodic songwriting duo of Justin Storer (drums/vocals) and Joel Streeter (guitar/vocals), along with Emily Gardiner (vocals), and Zack Beamer (bass/vocals). Boxed Lunch is known for their high-energy live shows and killer harmonies.
Justin and Joel have been following each other around the country for years without knowing it, finally meeting and joining forces in 2018. Both formerly of San Francisco and Brooklyn, they share a love for The Beatles and a gift for classic songwriting. Justin has released two albums of original music — a solo record (Hot Water Sunday) and a record with his Americana quintet, The Working Effective (Dear Brooklyn) — and has toured both nationally and internationally. Joel has two albums of his own, Hear Me Out and Matador, the latter of which features contributions by members of Counting Crows and Train, and was hailed by CD Baby as “a classic sounding pop album full of bounce, melodic arch, and lyrical substance.” As a solo artist, Joel has played iconic venues such as San Francisco’s Fillmore Auditorium (opening for Phil Lesh and Friends) and The Great American Music Hall.
During the warm weather season, the music may perform outdoors, under the eaves of the back deck. Otherwise, and in the case of inclement weather, the music will be held inside our beautiful glass oasis – the tropical conservatory. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available first come, no reservations.
Picnics are welcome throughout the property, barring any outside alcohol. We have plentiful seating areas both inside the conservatory, and outdoors along the back deck, as well as in front of the conservatory, and there are several picnic tables spread across the lakefront. Feel free to bring your blankets/chairs. Pop up tents and personal grills are permitted for use in the overflow grassy tailgate and picnic areas.
Glass House Winery wines are available by the bottle and glass, and traditional tastings are being conducted at the Tasting Room Bar. *Our crowd pleasing Wine Slushies have returned for the season!* Also available are our Wine Flights, these are great for those who prefer to do a self guided tasting, simply order at the bar and take back to your table.
The following measures are in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all of our guests, as well as our staff:
We will be adhering to, and strictly enforcing, all requirements and guidelines as set forth by the Governor and the CDC, which include increased sanitization and cleaning procedures to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff.
We all know that music and dancing go hand in hand, however, if you are going to get up and groove to the tunes, we kindly ask that you stick to the vicinity of your seated area.
Children are welcome, please keep them with you at all times. Consider bringing along games or other items to entertain them, particularly while seated. Well behaved dogs are also welcome but must remain on their leash at all times.
