An afternoon filled with extraordinary Blues performances by various members of the Central Virginia Blues Society! While, there’s no telling who will be playing at any one time…there’s no doubt the music will be phenomenal!
Matty Metcalfe and Crewe d’Bayou plays ‘Pan-Bayou’ dance music for all ages! The band’s repertoire features many original compositions in addition to musical touchstones from many eras–including songs by Ray Charles, Professor Longhair, Dr. John, James Booker, and modern groups from Louisiana, Texas, and the Gulf Coast. Along with his ‘stride-piano’ virtuosity, Mr. Metcalfe plays a special electric accordion that, in addition to normal accordion voices, features organ, trumpet, clarinet, and harmonica sounds! New Orleans native Aric Van Brocklin’s soulful singing and slide/electric guitar leads add a distinctively bayou-borne flair while Paul Rosner (drums) and Mike Clem (bass) lay down the infectiously danceable groove. It is a sight to see and wonder to hear these fabulous musicians in Crewe d’Bayou, described as ‘the best New Orleans band this side of the Mississippi!’

LOCAL VOCALS is an eclectic acoustic trio featuring the vocal stylings of Cindy Perfater, former lead singer with Charlottesville’s
Houserockers Band for over 25 years. Pat Burns, guitarist/vocalist formerly with The Kool Kats and City Lights; and Mike Perfater, guitarist/vocalist who spent nearly three decades with The Houserockers Band as its founder and leader. The trio’s musical style relies heavily on tight three part harmonies, with all three members alternating as lead singers, with recently added percussionest Carl Moyer holding down the groove.

The Bobby Midnight Band returns Glass House Winery with their ‘disco-funk-rock’ sounds. Performing live Friday, March 13th from 6 to 9 pm inside the tropical jungle room — the glass conservatory!
Bobby Midnight Band formed in 2014 in Charlottesville, Virginia. Blossoming from their decade-long partnership in regional favorite Trees on Fire, BMB’s original three members (Rob Mezzanotte, Brian J Wahl, and Paul Rosner) created their new project as a way to submerse themselves in shared roots – soul and rhythm & blues. Keyboardist Nick Cardoni brought increased musicality to the group and played on BMB’s debut album before trombonist Nathaniel Lee and guitarist/keyboardist Eric Knutson completed the lineup in 2017. We will work with the musicians to reschedule in the future. At present time we are planning to be open regular hours, Thursday – Sunday, 12 noon to 5:30pm, with our usual late hours until 9pm on Fridays. The Middle Fork Band makes their Glass House Winery debut! Entertaining all with their vast repertoire of popular covers. Performing live Friday, March 20th from 6 to 9 pm inside the tropics of the glass conservatory.
The four founding members Pat Burns, Dennis Moler, Marianne Carbocci, and Ray Carbocci had been getting together for a number of years for jam sessions. In 2016 Pat Burns had friends who opened a new winery in Fluvanna County and asked the group to provide the live music for their grand opening. The group got together over a number of weekends assembling songs and putting together an act. The Middle Fork Band was officially formed, featuring stellar harmonies, fantastic guitar playing, and Dennis’s prowess on bass. Middle Fork Band covers the Eagles, Crosby Stills and Nash, the Beatles, the Bee Gees, and the Everly Brothers, just to name a few. Depending on the crowd and the venue, a number of dance songs can also be performed.

David Kulund and Friends — FULL BAND — bring their high energy rocking sounds to the tropical conservatory, Friday, April 10th, 6-9pm. Featuring David Kulund and Friends.
Bio:
David Kulund is a singer-songwriter living in Charlottesville, Virginia. David sang and played guitar in popular bands in New York City and Boston. His rock band, the Soft Explosions, was hyped as “the best band in New York, bar none, based on their live shows” (Allmusic) and were New York winners of Little Steven’s Underground Garage Battle of the Bands. Their EP, Ride Between the Eyes, was released on Canarsie Records, while his Boston band, Honeyglazed, released the Trouble with Girls on Curve of the Earth Records.
He played major music festivals like SXSW and New York City’s All Points West. David’s bands performed at premier venues like NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom and Webster Hall, sharing bills with artists like Weezer and the Brian Jonestown Massacre. He has played at the Kennedy Center.
David also writes and performs children’s music. He was a member of the award-winning Dream Jam Band in New York.
In 2015, David returned to his hometown of Charlottesville to play both adult and children’s music. For adults, he performs solo shows and also teams with multi-instrumentalist Matty Metcalfe, bassist Turtle Zwadlo, and drummer Paul Rosner to play a rocking blend of harmonized originals and covers by the Stones, Byrds, Springsteen, and many other crowd favorites. Their shows are fun, danceable, and energy-packed!
