Local Vocals with Firefly On The Fly food truck

It’s been a minute and we are thrilled to welcome back the Local Vocals to our local paradise here in Free Union! They’ll be entertaining all with their vast repertoire of favorites, spanning the last 6 decades…absolutely playing something for everyone! Friday, August 20th, from 6 to 8:30pm. Open to all, no cover.

Band Bio:
LOCAL VOCALS is an eclectic acoustic trio featuring the vocal stylings of Cindy Perfater, former lead singer with Charlottesville’s
Houserockers Band for over 25 years. Pat Burns, guitarist/vocalist formerly with The Kool Kats and City Lights; and Mike Perfater, guitarist/vocalist who spent nearly three decades with The Houserockers Band as its founder and leader. The trio’s musical style relies heavily on tight three part harmonies, with all three members alternating as lead singers, and with recently added percussionest Carl Moyer holding down the groove.

With a powerful vocal chemistry, and now in their ninth year of performing together, LOCAL VOCALS repertoire includes a wide variety of traditional classic acoustic rock of The Eagles, Crosby Stills & Nash, The Zack Brown Band and Jimmy Buffett along with familiar modern selections of The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Little Big Town and ambitious unplugged versions of pop and rock groups whose music spans nine decades.

John and Brian Rimel with Twisted Biscuits food truck
We are pleased to announce our return to Glass House Winery in Free Union for an upcoming performance on Sunday, August 22 from 3-5:30. I hope you will plan to join me and Brian Rimel for an afternoon of original songs, excellent wine, and handmade chocolates with friends in the winery’s conservatory – a unique, tropical listening space nestled at the foot of the Blue Ridge. We invite you to come on out and enjoy a summer Sunday afternoon with us! Hope to see you there!
John Rimel is an award-winning songwriter from central Virginia, with credits including songs featured on seven Top 10 Billboard albums, Country Music Song of the Year, and an album considered for a 2019 Grammy. He has toured nationally and is a voting member of the Recording Academy (Grammys). John performs his original repertoire (an eclectic mix of Americana, blues, rock, folk, country, bluegrass, and gospel) in an acoustic duo with Brian Rimel. The paired-down presentation of piano and acoustic guitar, highlighted by family harmony, affords the listener an intimate musical experience and, best of all, a chance to hear his songs as they were written.
