PICKING and PICNICKING @ Glass House Winery, DAY #2 – Labor Day Monday, September 2nd

  • Come over and have a labor day picnic here! Our big grill will be on and ready to for you to cook up your picnic items — grilled meat, fish and/or veggies. Be sure to stop in the Tasting Room to pick up your favorite Glass House Winery wines and chocolates to complete your picnic. GRILL USE IS FREE — FIRST COME/FIRST SERVE

PARTICIPATE IN ANY and/or ALL of the planned activities:

12 to 4:30pm – CHOCOLATE AND WINE PAIRINGS (limited seating) *REGULAR CHARGES APPLY*
~ A guided chocolate and wine paired tasting
~ Reserve a time slot, walk-ins accepted based on availability

1 to 5pm PICKING — bring your own clippers and containers

~ PICK YOUR OWN CONCORD GRAPES *FREE* :
Concords last a good while when refrigerated. Learn the BEST way to enjoy Concords, and what a fascinating fruit they are.

~ PICK YOUR OWN HARDY KIWIS *FREE*:
Small quantity harvest, but spectacular tasting. Not long lasting. Few people have had hardy kiwis, which taste mostly like kiwis but look completely different.

2 to 5pm BEHIND THE SCENES *FREE* :
~ Sample fermenting wine — fizzy and yeasty!
~ Grape Stomping — a chance to stomp some grapes (this activity will only take place on Monday). Maybe fun, maybe a bit gross, but you can say you’ve done it. By the way, there are places in the world — Portugal notably — where grapes are still regularly stomped. Often they hire local futbol teams to stomp back and forth in giant stomping bins.

4pm VINEYARD WALK and TOUR *FREE* — with lots of info on how grapes grow.

THE GLASS HOUSE WINERY EXPERIENCE — Chocolate, wine, grapes and more — ALWAYS!
