The David Tewksbury Trio returns to Glass House, bringing their groove-laden soulful indie folk rock vibes. Featuring David Tewksbury (vox, guitar), Chris Gregoria (percussion), and Erik Pearson (bass) performing live in the tropics of Free Union Friday, April 2nd, from 6 to 8:30pm. Open to all, no cover.

Dubbed “rock poet” by C-VILLE, Tewksbury has been performing his original music in and around Charlottesville since 2007. Inspired by the art rock, jazz fusion, and R&B he grew up listening to on the radio, his original songs and grooving cover tunes wed rock’s intensity to soul’s intimacy. Themes cover the gamut– from social justice to heartbreak, to life-celebrating anthems.

WVTF Radio’s “Roots Down” host Luke Church who has called Tewksbury his “spirit animal,” sums up the music with the following — “The essence of being… the presence of the moment… a piercing reflection on life. That is the music of David Tewksbury. Come for the winsome melodies and dancing guitar; stay for the raptured insight into the human condition.

The band has released an 11-track full-length “Sun is Rising”. Tewksbury released his 2014 solo debut EP, “Five Months from October”. Both are available for purchase on iTunes and CD Baby, and streamable on Spotify and YouTube.

Tonights food truck had to cancel. We are trying to find a replacement but feel free to bring your own picnic dinner or enjoy our selection of meats, cheeses, and crackers!

Please note, weather permitting the music will be outdoors — set up under the eaves on the back deck.

In the case of inclement weather (or severe temps):

~ the music may be canceled

~ the music may move into the tropical conservatory where, due to social distancing requirements, there is limited, spaced seating (with overflow seating on the covered deck)

~ if the music moves into the conservatory, there may be a need to downsize the number of band members

~ a passing light shower might be okay, but patrons should be prepared

Please check our Social Media posts or call the Tasting Room for an update.

We have plenty of spaced seating areas, the majority of which is outdoors — all seating areas are first come, based on what is available. We also have lots of room for tailgate/picnics on the grass, also first come.

We encourage you to bring your picnic blanket/ chairs. Pop up tents and personal grills are also welcome to be used at the overflow grassy tailgate and picnic areas. Picnics are welcome throughout the grounds, barring any outside alcohol.

The Tasting Room Bar is closed from Friday at 5 pm through the weekend, EXCEPT for to go sales and wine club pick ups. Bottles and Tasting Flights are available to be enjoyed at your seating area.

While we are not offering traditional tastings we have created several Wine Tasting Flights, including a Chocolate and a wine pairing flight.

The following measures are in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all of our guests, as well as our staff:
Practice Social Distancing and please do not gather with others outside of your immediate group, for any reason. We kindly request that you wear face masks when not at your seating area, and face masks must be worn indoors when not at your seating area.

At all times, please maintain the minimum safe distance from those not in your group.
